Message from the President

      The secret of success is "constancy to purpose."  These words spoken by the British author and statesman Benjamin Disraeli, perfectly describe the stratagem of the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce. Our chamber experienced great success this past year.  With your help, and with the exceptional support of our Board of Directors, 2011 was a year of remarkable growth.  We expanded our membership base, celebrated record member retention, welcomed new Corporate Sponsors, created a wildly successful Taste of MetroWest, encouraged the development of the MetroWest Tourism and Visitors Bureau, grew our College Initiative, strengthened our Alliances with BNI, the Women’s Alliance and the Veterans Initiative,  augmented our Educational Foundation through our tremendously fruitful Golf Tournament, awarded the most-ever scholarship money to local students, assisted the Patrick Administration in the creation of a strategic economic development plan and watched attendance grow at every one of the 30+ events we held this year.  How did we do this despite the slowly recovering economy and the many challenges that faced the MetroWest business community?
      Success is created by developing a vision and then rolling up your sleeves to implement that vision.  By adhering to our core mission of providing the "Power of Connection" to our businesses and by broadening our outreach to the communities we serve, the MetroWest Chamber promoted, supported and assisted the business community across the region.  We worked to increase visibility for our businesses within the region and throughout the Commonwealth and advocated at the local, state and national level in an effort to address the challenges our businesses face.  This is the value proposition we strive to achieve each and every day.
      2012 promises to be another exciting year at the MetroWest Chamber.  Thank you for all you have done to make this a strong and vibrant chamber.  We look forward to working with you in 2012 to further enhance the business community in MetroWest and beyond.   Wishing you health and prosperity!  Bonnie
